Huh

Mon Nov 9, 2009, 11:51 PM
So, I told you guys I picked up a project awhile back. And I promised an update, so here it is:

I game across this home brew Sonic game titled "Sonic Revolution". It's all over YouTube, if you're curious. Anyways, It sparked my interests seeing as it had a lot of potential being a game that was built from the ground up, and not a mod. So I sent in my portfolio to Spiderbyte Games, which caught the attention of one of the team founders.

Appearantly the project was (basicly) dropped, seeing as nearly all team members had bailed. I was told if I could animate, I've got the spot and he might revive the project. Needless to say, he liked a couple samples I sent.
So, I spent 3 weeks re-learning Blender and completing the animation list, which I turned in nearly a month ago, and haven't gotten a response back. I've tried contacting him through several means.. but nothing.

This leads me to my rant... Im sick of people showing interest in what I do, then bailing or completely stopping communication when I've done my part. It's damn near impossible to find people dedicated to anything anymore.

No more mod teams -everyone knows 99% of mods never get finished-, no more teams that are barely to the concept art stage, and no more joining teams with guys under 20 years of age.
Unfortunately, that leaves no one else except big name businesses. Hah

So for now, Im going to stick with rebuilding this old '67 Ford Galaxie 500 that's sitting in the garage.

Ill upload the animations soon.

Trade Games?

Any of you have PC games you want to trade?
I have a very small list at the moment, but I might have something you want.

Go here for my GameTZ listing:

Ive been a member for 8 years, so it's a very reliable site. If I don't have what you're looking for, someone else will.

As for me.. if anyone really wants to know - Still haven't been able to find work, and my car is getting repossessed, making it more difficult to find work outside this small town. I honestly don't know where to go from here. On the art related side - I picked up a project before I decided to take this "hiatus" of sorts. I'll be doing the animations (for now).
I'll keep you posted.

Moving On

Mon Sep 14, 2009, 12:59 PM
I've come to accept that I cannot make any sort of living from 3D.
I knew this for awhile, but you've gotta try. But you've also got to know when to quit.

You won't be seeing many updates from me from now on. I can say all this without regret. I've learned a lot. Though the information I've gathered through the years has brought me no where slow, I can comfortably accept what I've done and where it has lead me.

I want to thank everyone that has supported me and taken time from their lives to teach me a thing or two.

...Time to find out where regular jerk-off jobs take me.

  • Drinking: Fucking Coffee! shfkasdh!
So I got my first paid commission work. I must say, it feels pretty good to have someone like my work enough to pay me for it. I only wish I could make a living off of it.

Next projects:

-Dr. Rockso for Unreal (he does cocaine)

(edit)-A request has been made. Brock Samson!

(edit)-I might have another commission project too :D

Might put these on hold. Moving to Nevada in a couple weeks.. I've been on a roll with getting characters done in under a year, I'd hate to start something then ignore it in the middle of moving.

DA's new portfolio thing is pretty good too. You can upload your resume and everything.

...I should really lay off the coffee...

Another edit - Anyone else getting Re-directed to Ad sites from DA? This is the ONLY site that been doing this for a couple weeks now. And yes, I am very aware of how to get rid of adware/spyware. So i know its not my computer, I've kept this computer and previous one clean for over 4 years, friends computers, and the rare customers. I build and repair the things, and do virus cleaning ect. It must be a DA ad partner or something. Whatever it is, it's annoying as fuck. So figure it out DA. Too my watchers, sorry for all the edits.
